Fostering Imagination’s Filmaking Program teaches youth how to use digital cameras, develop scripts in Final Draft, edit in Sony Vegas, and direct their own short films. Youth are also given the opportunity to act in each others movies after auditioning for the roles. Each program accepts 6-8 youth, keeping the group small so that each child has the opportunity to bond with their mentors and the opportunity to create life long relationships.
Spring Filmmaking Program 15-week program from March-June

Fall Filmmaking Program 15-week program from September-December

Summer Theatre/Filmmaking Workshop Series 6-week program July-August
* Classes are held on Saturdays from 2:00pm-5:00pm
**Youth may only participate in the Summer Workshops upon completion of the Theatre Program. The content of the workshop series changes every Sunday. For example, in 2007 F.I. invited guest speakers from the Industry such as agents, make-up artists, costume and set designers and professional actors to discuss various topics and teach youth about the numerous opportunities available to them and how to explore these opportunities in theatre, film, television and commercials. In 2008, FI youth will be invited to participate in a Documentary Filmmaking Workshop.
